Rob's Chicago 2007 Wrap Up!

Chicago has always been my favorite show, even before I met all of you on the boards because the people are so nice and enthusiastic about comics. Chicago is a nice contrast to San Diego where the focus has completely been removed from comic books and is 100% on Hollywood celebs and stars which is fun but it's a film festival now more than a comic convention.

As these cons have allowed for more and more of all us board members to meet and build friendships it has added a more personal flavor, which adds to the overall experience. It's great to put faces to all the different members of this on-line community.

So I arrived at 4pm straight from the airport with mighty Marat Mychaels and we spent the first hour setting up the new booth displays. We had giant 8-foot Armageddon Now standees featuring art from the series illustrated by myself and painted by Matt Swift. Once we situated the booth and put out the Armageddon Now tattoos, (one featuring Corbin the other featuring the Angel of Death) and broke out the new Armageddon Now books, we mingled with many of the guys who showed up early. Preview night at Chicago is a short 3 hours and provides the opportunity to early birds to get the best new, exclusive items available at the show. Armageddon Now sold briskly with everyone able to get signatures…”
